Securities Commission Malaysia-World Bank-IOSCO Conference 2018: Malaysia Leads In Advocating Convergence Of Islamic And Green Financing

Malaysia is leading efforts for convergence of Islamic and green financing following the country's issuance of the world's first green sukuk in July 2017. To date, five green sukuk have been issued under the Securities Commission Malaysia’s (SC) Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) Sukuk Framework totaling RM2.407 billion, with more expected during the year.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange Issues Guidelines On Credit Risk Management Over The Duration Of Asset-Backed Securities (Trial) And Guidelines On Content And Format Of Periodic Reports For Asset-Backed Securities

Recently, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (“SZSE”) officially issued Guidelines on Credit Risk Management over the Duration of Asset-Backed Securities (Trial) (hereinafter referred to as Risk Management Guidelines) and Guidelines on the Content and Format of Periodic Reports for Asset-backed Securities (hereinafter referred to as Guidelines on Periodic Reports). The two guidelines aim to improve the risk management system for asset securitization, strengthen the credit risk management over the duration of asset-backed securities (ABS), enhance the disclosure quality of periodic reports on asset-backed securities, deal with the market concerns pertaining to information effectiveness, thus effectively protecting the legitimate rights and interests of investors.

ASIC: IT Consultant Charged With gaining Unauthorised Access To Data And Insider Trading

IT consultant Steven Oakes, of Sydney, New South Wales, has been charged with a total of 115 offences for unauthorised access to data held in a computer, insider trading, and destroying or concealing books required by ASIC. The filing hearing for Mr Oakes’ charges was listed at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 14 May 2018.
