SET Market Report For May 2018

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index at the end of May fell 1.5 percent from end-2017 and 3 percent from the previous month to 1,726.97 points while the combined average daily trading value of SET and Market for Alternative Investment (mai) in May surged 41.7 percent from the same period a year earlier to THB 60.91 billion (USD 1.90 billion).

ACER’s Open Letter On Inside Information Disclosure

In its Open Letter on Inside Information disclosure and the use of Inside Information Platforms ACER presented the results of the latest analysis of publishing activities. In particular, the disclosure of inside information on company websites turned out to be ineffective and insufficient.

Shanghai Stock Exchange, LuxSE Launch Green Bond Channel

On June 8, 2018, when the Board Meeting and the Capital Market Development Summit of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) was held in Shanghai, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) held a ceremony for the signing of the cooperation agreement and officially launched the Green Bond Channel, which has offered a new model for the cross-border green finance cooperation in the capital market. Wu Qing, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai and Chairman of WFE, attended the ceremony.

NSD And Interfax Launch RU Data Price Service To Assess Bond Value And Risks Based On Information Provided By NSD Valuation Center And Thomson Reuters

National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia’s central securities depository, and Interfax Group have launched the integrated product RU Data Price, which allows institutional investors to access a full set of data to analyze market risks and generate regulatory reports, in particular, to evaluate the fair price of bonds. The new service has been introduced under the support of Thomson Reuters.

The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) announced that regarding the split of the shares’ nominal value of QSE listed companies to become one riyal per share, the QFMA is working in developing the procedures and the appropriate mechanisms to regulate the process. This step comes as a part of performing the QFMA’s regulatory and supervisory role over the capital market in the State. Through this step, the QFMA seeks to increase the prospects for investment in the financial market, expand the shareholders base, attract more small investors, give more choice opportunities for all participants dealing in the QSE, and increase the liquidity and turnover ratio of shares listed on the market. The QFMA is exerting more efforts to achieve its mission that aims to regulate and develop the capital market in line with the QFMA’s Strategic Plan, which is in harmony with the Financial Sector Plan in the State.
