ETFGI Reports That Assets Invested In ETFs And ETPs Listed In Europe Increased By 2.13% During July 2018 To Reach US$827 Billion

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm on trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today that that assets invested in ETFs and ETPs listed in Europe increased by 2.13% during July 2018 to reach US$827 billion at the end of the month. The increase followed 5 months of assets declining from a high of US$858 billion at the end of January to a low of US$810 billion at the end of June. 2018 Yunnan Municipal Bonds And The First Special Bond Of Higher Learning National-wide Have Successful Issue By Tender On Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

On August 10, Yunnan Provincial Government made a successful issue by tender of 14.5-billion-yuan municipal bonds through the SZSE Municipal Bond Issue System, Ministry of Finance. This is the first time for Yunnan Provincial Government to issue municipal bonds on SZSE. In particular, the provincial higher learning special bond is another innovative variety of special municipal bonds the Ministry of Finance designs to promote the gross balance between project income and financing. In addition, it is the first provincial public higher learning special bond nation-wide right after the special bonds of land reserves, governmental toll roads, shantytown reconstruction and rail traffic.

FIA And FIA PTG Urge CFTC To Retain Current De Minimis Level For Swap Dealer Definition

FIA and the FIA Principal Traders Group (together, FIA) today urged the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to retain the current $8 billion de minimis threshold for swap dealer registration and to modify the calculation methodology to better align it with the goals of a well-regulated derivatives market. Among the modifications, FIA supports efforts to except exchange-traded and/or cleared swaps, financial hedging transactions, and non-deliverable forwards from the calculation of the threshold. FIA’s comments are contained in a detailed letter to a proposed rulemaking that was submitted to the CFTC today.
