CFTC Approves Final Guidance Regarding The Listing Of Voluntary Carbon Credit Derivative Contracts

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today approved final guidance regarding the listing for trading of voluntary carbon credit derivative contracts. The guidance applies to designated contract markets (DCMs), which are CFTC-regulated derivatives exchanges, and outlines factors for DCMs to consider when addressing certain Core Principle requirements in the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and CFTC regulations that are relevant to the listing for trading of voluntary carbon credit derivative contracts. The guidance also outlines factors for consideration when addressing certain requirements under the CFTC’s Part 40 Regulations that relate to the submission of new derivative contracts, and contract amendments to the CFTC.

HKEX: Forfeiture Of Unclaimed First Interim Dividend For 2018

On 2 August 2024, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEX”) announced that, pursuant to HKEX’s Articles of Association, the first interim dividend for 2018 of HK$3.64 per share, payable on 20 September 2018 and remaining unclaimed on 20 September 2024, would be forfeited and would revert to HKEX. Accordingly, the unclaimed first interim dividend for 2018 amounting to HK$18,268,406.07 is forfeited and reverts to HKEX today.

The Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), the global golden source of reference data for OTC derivatives, today released data indicating industry readiness for the start of UK UPI (Unique Product Identifier) reporting on 30 September 2024 under revised UK EMIR rules. The UPI is reported to trade repositories so regulators can monitor the build-up of systemic risk across the OTC derivatives market.

Vienna Stock Exchange: Mayr-Melnhof And Wienerberger Added To ATX Global Players Index, AUSTRIACARD Included In ATX Family

In accordance with the rules and regulations, the composition of the ATX Global Players index has been adjusted. This means that effective from Monday, 23 September, Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG and Wienerberger AG will be included in the ATX Global Players. BAWAG Group AG will be excluded from the index. This is the result of a review of the company's turnover. The ATX Global Players Index is composed of those prime market companies that generate more than 20% of their revenue outside Europe. At present, these are 16 index members. The sectors currently most represented in the index are industrial goods and services (29.5%), basic industries (27%), financials (24.2%), consumer products (13.8%), as well as technology and telecom (5.4%).
