Bahamas International Securities Exchange Publishes Proposed Rules And Fee Schedule Ammendments

The Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX) is pleased to announce an improvement to the BISX Website with the addition of a new section dedicated to Proposed Rule and Fee Amendments. The new section is located under the Market Regulation menu item on the BISX Website and provides a location where BISX can introduce and publish proposed amendments to Rules and Fee Schedules.
IMF Executive Board Reviews Proposal To Update The Monetary And Financial Policies Transparency Code

On April 29, 2019, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) discussed a paper proposing an update of the Monetary and Financial Policies Transparency Code (MFPT), by means of replacing it by a new Central Bank Transparency Code (CBT). The update is in line with the recommendations of the 2017 Joint Review of the Standards and Codes Initiative, indicating the need for risk-based assessments to support policy effectiveness and address macroeconomic risks.
FINRA Arbitration Rule Change Notice: Approved Rule Change To Expand Time For Non-Parties To Respond To Arbitration Subpoenas And Orders Of Appearance Of Witnesses Or Production Of Documents

FINRA has received approval to amend the FINRA Code of Arbitration Procedure for Participant and Industry Disputes to expand the time for non-parties to respond to arbitration subpoenas and orders of appearance of witnesses or production of documents, and to make related changes to enhance the discovery process for forum users.

Today the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled in support of whistleblowers in the False Claims Act case entitled Cochise Consultancy, Inc. v. United States, ex rel. Hunt. In a decision written by Justice Clarence Thomas, the Court rejected arguments raised by the two defense contractors and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that sought to weaken the FCA by reducing the time period for filing a lawsuit from ten years to six years in certain cases.

Prices for pork bellies are the most volatile of all the pork primal cuts, with volatility peaking at over 40% in 2018.
