Statement On The Proposal To Substantially Reduce 13F Reporting, SEC Commissioner Allison Herren Lee, July 10, 2020

The Commission proposes today to increase the reporting threshold by 35 times for institutional investment managers that must report equity holdings on Form 13F, thus eliminating visibility into portfolios controlling $2.3 trillion in assets. This proposal joins a long list of recent actions that decrease transparency and reduce both the Commission’s and the public’s access to information about our markets.

CFTC Invalidates CPO Registration Exemptions For 17 Foreign Entities - Entities Failed To Substantiate Eligibility Requirements In Response To DSIO Special Call

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today announced it has issued an order deeming the commodity pool operator (CPO) exemptions of 17 entities to be ineffective following a special call by the Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight (DSIO). The order was approved by the Commission on July 7, 2020 and is effective immediately. The special call was authorized by the Commission in March 2020.

SEC Proposes Amendments To Update Form 13F For Institutional Investment Managers; Amend Reporting Threshold To Reflect Today’s Equities Markets

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has proposed to amend Form 13F to update the reporting threshold for institutional investment managers and make other targeted changes. The threshold has not been adjusted since the Commission adopted Form 13F over 40 years ago.

EBA Publishes Phase 2 Of Its Technical Package On Reporting Framework 2.10

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a new release of the reporting framework 2.10, providing the technical tools and specifications for the implementation of EBA reporting requirements. The package includes the validation rules, the Data Point Model (DPM) dictionary and XBRL taxonomies.

Open Interest In MOEX Standardised OTC Derivatives Up 25% To RUB 547 Billion

At the end of 30 June 2020, open interest on MOEX’s Standardised OTC Derivatives Market was RUB 547 billion, up 25% YoY (30 June 2019: RUB 436 billion). The market is now comparable to MOEX’s Derivatives Market in terms of open interest (average open interest in derivatives on MOEX was RUB 583 billion as of the same date).
