  • Tokyo Commodity Exchange February 2020 Market Summary

    The Tokyo Commodity Exchange announced today that February 2020 average daily volume was 102,950 contracts, up 16.5% from January 2020. Volume increased for TOCOM’s most active contracts; Gold Standard was up 32.7% to 48,301 contracts, Gold Rolling Spot was up 44.5% to 9,050 contracts and Dubai Crude Oil was up 27.3% to 16,168 contracts.

  • Global Exchanges Hit By Covid-19 Contagion Fears As FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index Down By 7.4% In February

    February was a month of two halves. In the first half of the month, the FTSE Mondo Visione Index established a new closing all-time high of 65,546.32. However, fears of a global recession triggered by Covid-19 sent global exchanges into a tailspin, and shares in the world's largest exchange operating groups fell by 7.4% in February, with all but 3 of the 30 constituents of the FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index being in negative territory, despite a surge in trading volumes.

  • SIFMA Supports Proposed Changes To The Volcker Rule

    SIFMA today filed a comment letter on the proposed revisions to the Volcker Rule issued in January 2020.  SIFMA strongly supports the proposing Agencies’ efforts to improve and streamline the regulations implementing the Volcker Rule by modifying and clarifying the requirements related to the covered fund provisions.

    NZX advises that it has issued $1,000 of ordinary shares (gross of tax) in NZX to each of its employees as at 3 February 2020 who have joined NZX since NZX’s previous issue of $1,000 of ordinary shares to employees as at 1 February 2019.

  • CME Group To Close Chicago Trading Floor As A Precaution - Covid-19

    CME Group today announced it will close its Chicago trading floor as of the close of business Friday, March 13, 2020, as a precaution to reduce large gatherings that can contribute to the spread of coronavirus in line with the advice of medical professionals. All products will continue to trade on CME Globex as they do today.
