Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission Statement On Sanctions Imposed By The US Government

On 7 August 2020, the US government announced the imposition of sanctions against individuals in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The SFC is monitoring closely the impact that the sanctions may have on the operation of intermediaries, the interests of investors and financial stability and orderliness of the markets in Hong Kong.

Nadex Temporarily Amends Binary Contracts Strike Width

Pursuant to Section 5c(c)(1) of the Commodity Exchange Act, as amended (“Act”), and Section 40.6(d) of the regulations promulgated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (the “Commission”) under the Act (the “Regulations”), North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (“Nadex”, the “Exchange”) hereby provides notice that due to increased volatility in the underlying markets upon which the Nadex contracts are based, Nadex made changes to the strike widths of various contracts during the week of August 3, 2020 as indicated in the Weekly Notice.

EBA Provides Clarity On The Implementation Of The Reporting And Disclosure Framework In The Context Of COVID-19 Measures

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today some frequently asked questions related to the implementation of its Guidelines on reporting and disclosure of exposures subject to measures applied in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The technical clarifications provided by the EBA will assist supervisors and credit institutions in the implementation of the Guidelines. The implementation questions and technical clarifications have been included in a newly added section 4 to the EBA Report on the implementation of selected COVID-19 policies, first published on 7 July 2020.
