Shenzhen Stock Exchange Signs Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement With Zhuhai Municipal Government To Serve Zhuhai’s Construction Into Important Portal In Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

On September 23, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government. Both sides deeply exchanged views on leveraging Zhuhai’s economic development characteristics and industrial features to further provide targeted capital market matchmaking and cultivation services and to jointly facilitate the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Wang Jianjun, Secretary of SZSE Party Committee and Chairman of SZSE, and Guo Yonghang, Secretary of Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee, attended the signing ceremony and unveiled the nameplate of the Zhuhai Listed Enterprise Association.

Japan Financial Services Agency - Emergency Registration Exemption For Foreign Financial Institutions/Asset Managers - Temporary Relief To Address Overseas Business Disruptions Due To Disaster Or Other Reasons

On July 22, 2020, the Financial Services Agency of Japan (hereinafter the “FSA”) amended the Cabinet Office Order on Definitions under Article 2 of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. This amended order introduced a scheme for foreign financial services providers, including asset management companies to be exempted from registration requirements by obtaining confirmation by the FSA, which enables them to conduct their business operations in Japan for a certain period of time when they have difficulty in continuing their financial instruments business in their home jurisdiction due to disaster or other reasons. The FSA hereby publicizes English versions of related materials as shown in Attachments.

IP insurers are subject to regulatory oversight by MOH and MASWe refer to recent letters and Dr Wong Chiang Yin’s op-ed on Integrated Shield Plans (IPs). Dr Wong raised concerns that Aviva Ltd (Aviva) had removed its IP coverage for medically necessary diagnostic endoscopies and asked if there were gaps in oversight of IP insurers.
