Central banks have reacted strongly, using a range of different measures to shore up financial markets and mitigate the adverse economic impact of the pandemic. A key policy question going forward will be how promptly, strongly and effectively different central banks responded to the crisis.

ESMA Publishes Response To IASB Request For Information On The Post Implementation Review Of IFRS 10, 11 AND 12

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has today published its response to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) Request for Information on the Post Implementation Review of IFRS 10, 11 and 12, including a report providing an overview of the implementation of the three standards by European issuers. The report draws on the experience of European enforcers since 2014 and is based on a review of a sample of 65 issuers relating to the financial years 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Moscow Exchange Launches Trading In New Equity Futures And Options

On 1 April 2021, the Moscow Exchange Derivatives Market will start trading in a deliverable Ozon futures contract. A cash-settled mini futures contract on Transneft preferred shares (the contract is quoted at 0.1 of the share price) will also begin trading, which will make derivatives on the company's securities available to a wide range of investors.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier market infrastructure for the global financial services industry, today announced that DTCC’s ALERT, the industry’s largest and most compliant web-based global database for the maintenance and communication of account and standing settlement instructions (SSIs), has passed a key milestone with over ten million SSIs now included in the service— an increase of 12% in the past twelve months.
