SIFMA Comments On SEC’s SPAC Proposals

In a comment letter filed today on new rules and rule amendments proposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) related to special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), SIFMA expresses support for increased disclosure related to SPAC transactions proposed by the SEC.  However, SIFMA also expressed significant concerns about newly proposed Rule 140a, which relates to gatekeepers in de-SPAC transactions.

CFTC Staff Issues Advisory On Swap Data Errors And Related Error Correction Notification Form

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Data (DOD) today issued an advisory that provides instructions for notifying staff when a swap execution facility (SEF), designated contract market (DCM), or reporting counterparty determines that it is unable to timely correct a swap data error.

ISDA-Clarus RFR Adoption Indicator: May 2022

The ISDA-Clarus RFR Adoption Indicator increased to an all-time high of  46.0% in May 2022 compared to 43.8% the prior month. The indicator tracks how much global trading activity (as measured by DV01) is conducted in cleared over-the-counter and exchange-traded interest rate derivatives (IRD) that reference the identified risk-free rates (RFRs) in six major currencies. On a traded notional basis, the percentage of RFR-linked IRD comprised 38.6% of total IRD in May compared to 35.9% the prior month.

Nadex Temporarily Amends Binary Contracts Strike Width

Pursuant to Section 5c(c)(1) of the Commodity Exchange Act, as amended (“Act”), and Section 40.6(d) of the regulations promulgated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (the “Commission”) under the Act (the “Regulations”), North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (“Nadex”, the “Exchange”) hereby provides notice that due to increased or decreased volatility, as the case may be, in the underlying markets upon which the Nadex contracts are based, Nadex made changes to the strike widths of various contracts during the week of June 06, 2022 as indicated in the Weekly Notice.

SIFMA Fixed Income Market Close Recommendation In The U.S., The U.K., And Japan For Juneteenth
