Last month, Tradeweb became the first electronic trading platform to deploy the request-for-market (RFM) protocol to facilitate a fully electronic single name CDS trade. The two-way market, for which BNP Paribas acted as liquidity provider, involved an emerging market sovereign CDS product, and was executed on Tradeweb’s institutional credit platform.

CCData Monthly Exchange Review: Crypto Trading Activity Falls To 4 Month Low

In April, the combined spot and derivatives trading volume on centralised exchanges fell 27.9% to $2.77tn, recording the first month-on-month decline in trading volume this year. The decline in trading activity saw centralised exchanges record their lowest volumes since December 2022. This follows a month in which the price of major crypto assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, stayed largely range-bound after failing to break key resistance levels.

ESMA Postpones To 2024 The Annual IFRS Amendment Of The ESEF

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, has decided to postpone to 2024 the amendment of the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) Regulatory Technical Standard (RTS). This decision is in part due to the limited changes in the 2023 update to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Taxonomy. Throughout 2023, ESMA will monitor the implementation of the ESEF requirements, assess how to improve digital reporting and develop the ESEF sustainability taxonomy and requirements.

New Chief Economic Adviser To The UK Treasury Appointed

The Cabinet Secretary, with the approval of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor, has announced the appointment of Sam Beckett as the new Chief Economic Adviser to the Treasury. She replaces Clare Lombardelli, who was recently appointed as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Chief Economist.
