  • Cboe Digital Receives Approval To Launch Margin Futures On Bitcoin And Ether

    Cboe Clear Digital announced it has received the necessary approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to expand its product offering to include margined futures contracts. The initial product launch will include physically and financially settled Bitcoin and Ether contracts in the second half of 2023. Cboe Digital is the first U.S. regulated crypto native exchange and clearinghouse combination platform to offer leveraged derivatives products. Cboe Digital's vision to bring trust and transparency to crypto spot and derivatives markets is an intermediary-inclusive model.

    The Bank has today concluded its corporate bond sales programme. As previously announced, a small number of very short maturity bonds will continue to be held in the portfolio, maturing fully by 5 April 2024.

  • Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer: Farmer Sentiment Sours As Crop Prices Decline

    Producer sentiment fell to its weakest reading since July 2022, as the Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer declined 19 points to a reading of 104 in May. The Index of Future Expectations was down 22 points to a reading of 98 in May, while the Index of Current Conditions was down 13 points to a reading of 116. This month's lower sentiment was fueled by drops in both of the barometer's sub-indices and likely triggered by weakened crop prices. In mid-May, Eastern Corn Belt fall delivery bids for corn fell over $0.50/bushel (10%) and soybean bids declined over $1.00/bushel (8%), while new crop June/July delivery wheat bids declined nearly $0.50/bushel (8%), all compared to bids available in mid-April when last month's barometer survey was conducted. The Ag Economy Barometer is calculated each month from 400 U.S. agricultural producers' responses to a telephone survey. This month's survey was conducted between May 15-19.

    Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX™), a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), today reported May 2023 trading volume of 251,517 contracts, representing a 4.4% year-over-year (YoY) decrease from the same period in 2022 and a 4.7% increase from April 2023.

  • Sherwood Media, LLC Hires James Denis As Head Of Sales - Media Company To Expand Product Offerings To Include News Platform, Print Magazine, Events And Audio

    Sherwood Media, LLC, a subsidiary of Robinhood Markets Inc. (NASDAQ: Hood), has hired James Denis as head of sales. At Sherwood, James will oversee global partnerships and strategy. James joins Sherwood from Vox Media, where he most recently served as VP of global partnerships and strategy based in New York. James spent more than 12 years at Vox, where he built out the sales and partnerships teams’ footprint in San Francisco and Los Angeles and later added oversight of the Midwest region in addition to the West Coast. James then served as head of industry at Vox, focusing on strategy and key partnership development across the tech, telecom and B2B industries. He was a founding member of Vox’s revenue organization, spearheading the company’s growth and business development strategy for powerhouse media properties like The Verge, Recode and New York Magazine. James is reporting to Sherwood Media President and Editor-in-Chief Josh Topolsky.
