Deutsche Börse Calculates Weather Indices - Temperature Data For 30 European Cities

Effective immediately, Deutsche Börse is calculating weather indices under the name "Xelsius". The indices open up the opportunity to identify temperature-related weather risks for 30 European cities. The indices will later be the basis for introducing derivatives products at Eurex.

The Toronto Stock Exchange And ITG To Bring Posit To Canada

The Toronto Stock Exchange Inc. announced today that it is in discussions to license and operate POSIT, a matching system for equity securities as a facility of the Toronto Stock Exchange, from POSIT JV, a joint venture between ITG Inc. (NYSE: ITG) and BARRA, Inc. (Nasdaq: BARZ). The two parties will determine an official launch date once definitive documentation has been completed.

The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreement For 21,9 Billion Kronur

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on November 21 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 11.4 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 21.9 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange: Decimal Trading Expansion Effective December 4, 2000

Nymex To Increase Natural Gas Margins

The New York Mercantile Exchange will raise the margins on its Henry Hub natural gas contract at the close of business tomorrow to $6,500 from $5,500 for clearing members; $7,150 from $6,050 for members; and $8,775 from $7,425 for customers.

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., today announced that Nasdaq CanadaSM has commenced operation, with ten securities firms initially participating in the trading of all Nasdaq-listed securities directly from Montreal. Nasdaq Canada will provide Canadian investors with easier access to U.S. securities and issuers with the ability to raise capital more efficiently.

LIFFE Shareholders Vote To Support Board's Strategic Vision

Yesterday at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) shareholders of LIFFE voted to support the Board's plans to work with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Battery Ventures and The Blackstone Group to develop the existing exchange business and exploit technology opportunities associated with LIFFE CONNECT™, LIFFE's electronic trading system.
