    The London Stock Exchange is set to appoint Clara Furse as Chief Executive Officer of Europe's biggest bourse, Breakingviews.com said on Tuesday. Breakingviews.com said Furse, former head of French bank Credit Lyonnais' derivatives business, would take up the appointment in February. Furse would be the first woman chief executive of the London Stock Exchange.

  • CBOE To Launch First Nasdaq Volatility Index, "VXN"

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) yesterday announced that on Tuesday, January 23, it will launch a new volatility index, the VXNSM. Similar in structure to CBOE’s Market Volatility Index (VIXSM) the widely used benchmark for tracking market volatility, the VXN will track volatility of options on the Nasdaq-100 Index® (NDXSM).
