As a result of yesterday's meeting of the Index Commission, the SWX Swiss Exchange has resolved that the pending securities issues of Givaudan AG (a spin-off of the flavours and fragrances division of the Roche Group) and Syngenta AG (representing the spin-offs and merger of the agrochemical divisions of Novartis AG and Astra Zeneca Ltd.) will be included in the Swiss Market Index (SMI) as of their respective first trading day, rather than delaying such inclusion until the normal index adjustmen

Central Bank Weekly Repo Auction 11/4/2000

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on April 11 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.1 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 13 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

10th IPO On The SWX New Market - Oridion Systems Ltd. Opens 22% Above Issue Price

The shares of Oridion Systems Ltd., medical-technical company, were traded today for the first time on the SWX New Market. The offering price was set Tuesday night at CHF 29.00. At the start of trading on SWX, the stock stood 22% above that level at CHF 35.30, representing a total market capitalization for the company of CHF 406,8 million.

The Majority Of LIFFE's Pan-European Stock Index Futures Now Available To Trade By US Investors

The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) has received "No Action" letters from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the government agency that oversees futures trading in the US, authorising a further five of its pan-European stock index futures for offer and sale in the US.

Eurex Launches Trading In STOXX Futures In The U.S. - CFTC Issues No-action Letter - Eurex Spectrum Expanded In U.S.

Effective immediately, Eurex, the European derivatives exchange, will also offer futures on the Dow Jones STOXX 50 and Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 indices in the United States. The American supervisory authority, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), gave Eurex the corresponding approval as of 06 April. This means that all U.S. Eurex participants can now trade these contracts directly from the U.S. and thus have access to the highest-volume and most liquid market for European stock index
