Ljubljana Stock Exchange Monthly Report - May

The total turnover of securities on the Exchange amounted to SIT 15.17 billion in May. It was the new lowest monthly turnover this year, below the April figure of SIT 16.78 billion. The total turnover in May 1999 was SIT 14.1 billion.The total value of SIT 102.5 billion of securities traded in the first five trading months of 2000 was just slightly above the 1999 figures or the same period (101,9 billion SIT).

KCBT Wheat Options Open Interest Achieves New Record

Open interest in Kansas City Board of Trade wheat options on Friday exceeded all previous records, reaching 26,843 contracts. The previous record of 26,590 contracts was set just two months ago on April 14, 2000.

Spain's MEFF (The Spanish Futures and Options Exchange) is joining the GLOBEX® Alliance with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), ParisBourseSBFSA, the Singapore Exchange Derivatives Trading (SGX-DT), the Bolsa de Mercadorias & Futuros (BM&F), and the Montreal Exchange (ME), officials of the six exchanges announced today, at the end of the ceremony at which MEFF officially applied to become the sixth partner in the GLOBEX® Alliance.

NYBOT To End Trading Of Dairy Contracts

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) voted at its June 14th Board meeting to close its dairy futures and options markets.
