    Turnover The total turnover of securities on the Exchange amounted to SIT 23.57 billion in November 2000, which is 10% higher than the November 1999 figure. A higher monthly value of the total turnover was recorded only in March this year, when it was SIT 28 billion. The total value of SIT 216.49 billion of securities traded in the first eleven trading months of 2000 was 2.2% below the 1999 figure for the same period.

    Sefalana has released subdued interim results to 30 October 2000. Turnover remained flat, increasing marginally by 1.7% from P175.5m to P 178.4m. Improved cost of sales resulted in gross profit increasing 20.3% from P28.0m to P33.6m. A surprisingly high rise of 32.8% in operating costs from P20.2m to P26.9m dampened the profit before tax and exceptional item, which rose 8.3% from P13.2m to P14.3m.
