  • PHLX Post Volume Increase In America Online

    The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced on June 30 that a record 177,417 America Online (AOL) options contracts traded on the options floor at the PHLX on June 29. This is in comparison to the average daily volume in America Online equity options for the month of May of approximately 45,000 contracts.

  • ParisBourse Derivatives Trading Up In The First Half Despite Slackening In June

    Despite a modest decline of 4.8% from May to June, trading on ParisBourse SBF SA derivative markets during the first half was up 31% from the same period of 1999. A total of 127,185,368 futures and options were traded over the six months, while the figure for June was 21,307,565 after 22,379,347 in May.

  • Nasdaq Preliminary 2000 First Half Results - Total Dollar Volume Increased 125 Percent Over The First Half Of 1999

    The dollar value of shares traded on The Nasdaq Stock MarketĀ® increased dramatically in the first half of 2000. Total dollar volume in the first six months of this year climbed 125 percent to $10.8 trillion from $4.8 trillion in the same period in 1999. Nasdaq finished the second quarter and the first half with average daily share volumes of 1.59 billion and 1.70 billion shares, respectively. Nasdaq's heaviest ever trading day occurred in the second quarter, when volume totaled 2.88 billion
