Singapore Exchange Limited Announces Corner Situation In Links Island Trading - Committee To Set Fair Settlement Price

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) today announced that the Board of SGX-ST, the Securities Trading arm of SGX, has concluded that a corner situation had been created or arisen in the shares of Links Island Holdings Ltd (Links Island) in the period leading up to the suspension of trading in the counter on 16 August 2000. The Board came to its conclusion following a lengthy and thorough investigation.

Robert Glauber And Wick Simmons Named To Replace Frank Zarb As Chairmen Of NASD And Nasdaq

The National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®) announced today that its Board of Governors has approved an executive management transition plan to be voted on at its Board meeting in September that will name Robert R. Glauber Chairman of the NASD and Wick Simmons Chairman of Nasdaq®. When approved, Frank Zarb will relinquish his positions as Chairman of Nasdaq and Chairman of the NASD. Powernext: A New Electricity Exchange Opening Up The French Market

Less than two years after the 1996 European directive was transposed to France by the law of 10 February 2000, electricity trading operators will have a new trading tool. The Powernext SA company, officially created today, will manage the power exchange. Powernext will be operational in the Autumn of 2001.

New FTSE Index Provides Domestic Benchmark For China

HKEx To Introduce New Stock Futures Market Arrangements And Eleven New Stock Futures And Stock Options Contracts

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx) will implement stock futures market changes and introduce eleven new stock futures and stock options contracts on 27 August (Monday). The moves are designed to strengthen the HKEx Derivatives Market by aligning the stock futures and stock options markets more closely, and giving investors more choices.

HKEx Derivatives Market Quarterly Market Statistics Q2 2001

The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) Derivatives Market's total futures and options contract volume rose 45.3 per cent in the second quarter from the same period last year. Total volume in Q2 2001 was 2,532,034 contracts comprised of 1,343,564 futures and 1,188,470 options contracts. In Q2 2000, total volume was 1,743,167 contracts comprised of 946,039 futures and 797,128 options contracts.
