    China’s interbank liquidity tightened in April but remained ample, as the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) moved to stabilize conditions following Q1’s fast expansion, and firms withdrew funds to meet tax deadlines. At the same time local traders reported economic sentiment slowing, as Q1 economic data showed an uneven recovery and a weak CPI print, the latest MNI China Liquidity Survey showed.

  • Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission Bans Peter Law Chi Kin For 10 Years And Fines Him $535,500

    The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has banned Mr Peter Law Chi Kin, a former licensed representative of Convoy Asset Management Limited (CAML), from re-entering the industry for 10 years from 26 April 2023 to 25 April 2033 for taking part in a stock manipulation scheme.  The SFC also fined Law $535,500, equivalent to the profit that he gained from participating in the scheme.

    The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) participated in Building African Financial Markets (BAFM) Conference in its 11th edition that was hosted this year by Zimbabwe Stock Exchange entitled - “Managing Risks in Turbulent Times”. Several economy ministers, a number of senior decision-makers in African countries, and a number of international experts participated in the conference.
