In October 2002, the total number of transactions on Euronext's cash markets was up 17%, compared to the month before, reaching 13,497,530. The average daily number of trades in cash products reached 586,849 in October, up 6.5% compared to September and up 12.7% year-to-date compared to the same period in 2001.

On Wednesday, 6 November 2002, the trading day on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, Inc. closed with a new record high for its major SBI20 Index - at 3.528 points, which was by 1,3 percent higher than on the previous day. Additionally, the Free Market Index - IPT and the (Authorised) Investment Funds Index - PIX reached their new record values of 2.565 points (up by 1 percent) and 2.757 points (up by 1,8 percent), respectively.

On November 18, as previously reported, Eurex, the international derivatives market, will initiate trading in options and futures on exchange-traded index fund shares, so-called exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The new growth segment at Eurex will be operated under the name EXTF. Deutsche Börse Acquires Stake In Infobolsa

Deutsche Börse and Bolsa de Madrid are joining forces to tap the European terminal market as a provider of financial information, as the two partners announced on Wednesday. Deutsche Börse AG will acquire a 50 percent stake in the Spanish company Infobolsa S.A., a 100 percent subsidiary of Bolsa de Madrid.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Share Trading Increased And The Derivatives Trading Volume Reached New Highs In A Very Volatile Market

In October, share trading amounted to DKK 31.3 billion - which was 16 per cent higher than in September, but 9 per cent lower than in October 2001. The value of average daily trading totalled DKK 1.4 billion, a 6 per cent rise on September.
