Nymex To List Two Additional Weeks For Weekly PJM Electricity Futures Contracts

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., will list an additional two weeks of trading in the PJM weekly electricity futures contract beginning on August 10 for the August 11 trading session.

On March 7, 2003, the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) index markets launched trading in futures contracts based on the newly revised NYSE Composite Index, under a two-stage strategy that included a later phasing out of futures and options contracts on the old NYSE Composite Index. The new products follow the creation of the revised NYSE Index by the New York Stock Exchange in January 2003.

PJM monthly electricity futures set a daily volume record on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., yesterday when a combination of 1,945 contracts were cleared or traded and cleared, surpassing the volume of 1,739 contracts on June 18.

New And Improved Classification Of Bonds Listed On The Copenhagen Stock Exchange

In recent years, the Danish bond market has seen a long line of new products. More than 2,250 bonds are listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. As from next week, the investors will get a more differentiated picture of the bond market and it will be easier to compare the bonds as they will be presented in a new way at the Exchange's website www.cse.dk, in the Official List and in several national newspapers.
NASD Proposes Disclosure Of Mutual Fund Compensation Arrangements

NASD has proposed for comment a rule that would expand the disclosure of two types of compensation paid for the sale of mutual fund shares. Disclosure of these practices would alert investors to the fact that a brokerage firm or its registered representatives may have financial incentives to recommend particular funds.

The number of trades on SETS, the London Stock Exchange's electronic order book, increased to 2.7 million in July 2003, marginally higher than the 2.63 million trades in July 2002. The value traded on SETS during the month was £63.2 billion, down from £73.7 billion in July 2002. The average daily number of trades on SETS was 118,783, up from 114,553 in July 2002.
