NYBOT Trading Smashes Historic Records - Huge Sugar Day Leads Way To Highest Total Daily Volume In Exchange History

The red-hot markets at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) turned white-hot yesterday, March 11, setting an all-time daily trading standard of 246,413 combined futures and options contracts, far surpassing the previous record of 202,587 set on October 31, 2003.

NSX Posts Three Consecutive Record Days

Trades on the National Stock Exchange (NSX) reached an all-time high of 1,443,997 yesterday, March 11, 2004, setting a new daily trade record for the third consecutive day this week. The previous daily trade record of 1,340,748 was set Wednesday, March 10, surpassing the single-day record of 1,269,927 trades that was set on Tuesday, March 9.

(CME) today reported that its GLOBEX® electronic trading platform posted new record volume of 2,596,812 contracts on Thursday, March 11, as heightened volatility in global financial markets sparked a trading surge in CME's benchmark equity index and interest rate products.

CBOT® Dow<SUP>SM</SUP> Jones Complex Reaches New Volume Record - CBOT Mini-sized Dow<SUP>SM</SUP> Activity Up 50 Percent To Shatter Prior Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that its mini-sized Dow Jones Index futures set a second consecutive daily trading record, surpassing the prior record by 50 percent with 155,922 contracts traded on March 11. The previous record of 103,950 contracts was set a day earlier on March 10.

In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on March 16, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

The Board of SETTRADE Dot Com Co., Ltd. has resolved to appoint Mrs. Chanisa Chutipat as their company's Chief Executive Officer overseeing SETTRADE Dot Com Co., Ltd., a SET subsidiary. The new CEO will manage SETTRADE in its role as provider of securities information system as well as securities trading system via the Internet in line with SETTRADE's mission. Mrs. Chutipat's duties will include undertaking proactive moves in all aspects of SETTRADE's operations.

SEC Votes To Adopt Additional 8-K Requirements And To Propose Amendments To Form 20-F And Fund Manager Disclosure Requirements

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission today voted to publish for comment proposed amendments to Form 20-F, to adopt additional reporting requirements on Form 8-K and to publish for comment proposed disclosure requirements for portfolio managers of mutual funds and other registered management investment companies.
