Canadian Securities Administrators: SEDAR+ Filing System To Launch July 25

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today confirmed previously announced plans to launch SEDAR+ on July 25, 2023. SEDAR+ is the new system that will be used by all market participants to file, disclose and search for issuer information in Canada’s capital markets.

CFTC Staff Issues A No-Action Letter Regarding Certain Reporting Requirements For Swaps Transitioning From USD LIBOR And Other Rates To Risk-Free Rates

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Market Oversight (DMO) and Division of Data (DOD) today issued a staff no-action letter regarding certain Part 43 and Part 45 swap reporting obligations for swaps transitioning under the ISDA LIBOR fallback provisions from referencing the remaining tenors of USD LIBOR, as well as USD LIBOR ICE Swap Rates and Moscow Prime Offered Rate (together, the Impacted Rates), to referencing risk-free rates (RFRs) following the cessation or non-representativeness of the Impacted Rates on June 30, 2023.

Federal Reserve Names Organizations Certified As Ready For FedNow® Service

The Federal Reserve announced that 57 early adopter organizations, including financial institutions and service providers, have completed formal testing and certification in advance of the FedNow Service's launch planned for late July. Many of these organizations will be live when the FedNow Service launches or shortly after, with financial institutions ready to send and receive transactions and service providers ready to support transaction activity.

CFTC Division Of Enforcement Creates Two New Task Forces - One Team Will Address Cybersecurity And Emerging Technology, Another To Combat Environmental Fraud

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Enforcement today announced it has established two new task forces. The Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies Task Force will address cybersecurity issues and other concerns related to emerging technologies (including artificial intelligence). The Environmental Fraud Task Force will combat environmental fraud and misconduct in derivatives and relevant spot markets. The task forces are comprised of attorneys and investigators across different offices within the Enforcement Division, who will prosecute cases, serve as subject matter experts, and coordinate efforts with the CFTC’s other divisions and offices.
