    The National Commission On Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the 9-11 Commission) has submitted its final report, which includes its review and conclusions concerning whether any trading in the United States securities markets was based on advance knowledge of the September 11 attacks. The United States Securities and Exchange Commission cooperated fully with the 9-11 Commission and provided information based on the following actions.

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Thursday, July 22, 2004: Mustang Resources Inc. (TSXVN:MUS.A) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol “MUS.A” at the open on Friday, July 23, 2004.

  • Securities Industry Association Backs Price Protection Approach On Market Structure Reform

    The Securities Industry Association, in written testimony to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, expressed its support for an intermarket price-protection proposal that would benefit investors by promoting price discovery, strengthening market integrity, and intensifying competition for investors’ transactions. The proposal would apply only to those best bids and best offers that are both “firm” and “accessible.”
