Russell/Nomura Prime Index Futures To Launch On April 25 - OSE To Offer New Futures Issue In Japan Based On Index Representing All Japanese Equity Markets

The Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE), Russell Investment Group and Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. Has announced that trading of Russell/Nomura Prime Index futures will start from April 25, 2005. The trading procedures and date were approved today at a board meeting of the Osaka Securities Exchange, which will continue to work for approval of the listing and authorization of the procedures by the Financial Services Agency.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange Is First Floor-Based Exchange To Complete Floor-Wide Rollout Of Its Electronic Options Trading System – PHLX XL - “ All Equity Options And Sector Indexes Can Now Be Traded Electronically”

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that it is the first floor-based Exchange to trade all of its options and sectors indexes electronically, on and off the trading floor, using PHLX XL, the Exchange’s electronic trading platform. The rollout occurred two and a half months ahead of schedule with no disruptions to the trading system.

NASD Charges American Funds Distributors, Inc. With Arranging $100 Million In Directed Brokerage Commissions For Top Sellers Of American Funds

NASD has charged American Funds Distributors, Inc. (AFD) with violating NASD's Anti-Reciprocal Rule by directing approximately $100 million in brokerage commissions over a three-year period to about 50 brokerage firms that were the top sellers of American Funds. The payments were made to reward the firms for past sales and to encourage future sales of American Funds' 29 mutual funds.
