The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces June Volume - “ Equity Option Volume Increases”

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity option volume for June reached 11,160,829 contracts, up 10.83% from the previous month when 10,070,405 contracts traded. Equity option volume for June increased 26.57% compared to the same year-ago period when 8,818,138 contracts traded.

The American Stock Exchange Will Observe A Moment Of Silence For Victims Of London Terror Attacks

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) will observe a moment of silence on Friday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m., in a show of empathy and respect for the victims of Thursday's attacks in London. The Amex requests that all members halt trading activity during the appointed time.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes effective after the close of business on Friday, July 8, 2005: On July 6, 2005, the shareholders of Thunder Energy Inc. (TSX:THY) approved the merger with Mustang Resources Inc. (TSX:MUS.A) and Forte Resources Inc. (TSX:FRZ). Thunder Energy Inc. will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX SmallCap and the S&P/TSX Capped Energy Indices.

OneChicago Reaches New Open Interest Record: Volume Surpasses 2004 Total

OneChicago, LLC today reported a new open interest record of 612,458 contracts attained Wednesday, compared to the old record of 551,501 reached in March of this year. Volume for the year increased to 1,977,958 contracts, surpassing the 1,922,726 traded in all of 2004. Open interest is the total number of contracts that have not yet been offset or taken to delivery.
