NASDAQ Intraday Cross To Be Introduced

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq: NDAQ) today announced it will introduce the NASDAQ intraday cross, a fully-anonymous trade execution facility designed to facilitate the execution of large trades. The intraday cross will provide market participants and investors with a highly efficient and accurate single price at specific times during the trading day, resulting in an enhanced ability to discover larger pools of liquidity. All U.S. securities will be included in the intraday cross.

New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Regulation, NASD and the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) today applauded the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for approving a common definition of “branch office” in the securities industry, as well as a new, centralized branch office registration system through the Central Registration Depository (CRD®).

Former KPMG Partner Pays $100,000 To Settle SEC Litigation Relating To Xerox Audits

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that Joseph T. Boyle, a former partner with KPMG LLP, agreed to settle the SEC's charges against him in connection with his role as the relationship partner on the audits of Xerox Corp. from 1999 through 2000. Boyle consented to the entry of a final judgment in the SEC's civil litigation against him pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The final judgment, which is subject to approval by the Honorable Denise L.

EEX: Record Turnover On The Electricity Spot Market

The EEX pursues its positive, undiminished trading trend and announces a record turnover of electricity trading on the EEX Spot Market. With a daily volume of 321.939 MWh on 3 October 2005, a new benchmark was established. It corresponds to appox. 24 % of the average German daily electricity consumption of around 1.350.000 MWh. The second and third highest trade volumes were reached on 5 October 2005 with 279.857 MWh and on 4 October 2005 with 267.738 MWh.
