EEX: High-Speed Growth During The First Nine Months Of 2005

European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) has considerably accelerated the speed of its growth throughout the first nine months of the year 2005. With an increase of the trading volume for power on the EEX Spot Market by 40.2 per cent to 60.7 TWh (previous year 43.3 TWh) and of the trading volume on the Deriva-tives Market by 33.2 per cent to 347.0 TWh (previous year: 260.5 TWh) the company from Leipzig was able to set new records.

Archipelago Holdings, Inc. (PCX: AX) yesteray announced its September 2005 market transaction volume data for the Archipelago Exchange (ArcaEx®), a facility of the Pacific Exchange. Specifically, in NYSE-listed equity securities, ArcaEx's total trading market share was 3.9% in September 2005, up from 2.0% in September 2004 and up from 3.7% in August 2005.

UK’s Financial Services Authority Consults On Rules For Disclosure Of Financial Reinsurance

The Financial Services Authority is proposing new rules that would require greater disclosure by insurers of their use of financial reinsurance. Earlier this year, the FSA wrote to firms asking about their use of financial reinsurance. Their responses have helped to develop the proposals being consulted upon. The FSA is also looking into the use of financial reinsurance contracts by a number of insurers.
