CBOT Precious Metals Complex Sets Daily Volume Record - Total Exchange Open Interest Reaches New High - Daily Volume Records Set In CBOT Equity Futures And Options Complex And Mini-sized Dow Contract

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that its 100 percent electronically traded Precious Metals complex set an all-time high, as volume reached 102,237 contracts at the close of trading yesterday. The previous record, 100,589 contracts, was reached on May 11, 2006. In addition, for the second time this week, the Exchange set a new record for total open interest. U.S.A. President Approves Bill Extending Tax Rates Until 2010 - SIA Praises Capital Gains And Dividends Tax Extension

The Securities Industry Association (SIA) praised President Bush and Congressional leaders today for finalizing a bill to extend the current tax rates on capital gains and dividends. Originally set to expire in 2008, the reconciliation bill (HR 4297) extends the maximum tax rate of 15 percent on capital gains and dividends through 2010.

Thai Listed Companies Exceed THB 140 Billion Profit (Q1/2006)

Listed companies on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) posted Q1/2006 profits of THB145.28 billion (approx. USD3.77 billion), an 8% increase year-on-year (y-o-y). Profits of SET50 and SET100 companies made up 77% and 82% of overall profits respectively. The three industry groups recording the highest net profits were Resources, Financials, and Services. The leading five most profitable companies were PTT, SCC, PTTEP, THAI, and ADVANC.

Stockholm Stock Exchange’s Disciplinary Committee Fines Wedins

Wedins Skor & Accessoarer AB has breached the company’s listing agreement with the Stockholm Stock Exchange by not providing information about an extraordinary general meeting in time and by not handling price-sensitive information in the correct manner. The Stockholm Stock Exchange’s Disciplinary Committee has decided to fine Wedins SEK 576,000.
