The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will host the first-ever SET Hackathon competition for the general public under the theme “Wealth and Sustainability”, opening up opportunities for thinkers, students, faculty members, investors and interested individuals. The competition is aimed to encourage them to co-invent, utilize the database of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) and develop as an innovation that can navigate investors and listed companies towards sustainable investment and business operations. Application to participate in the competition opens from today to October 10, 2023, to win prizes of over THB 300,000 (approx. USD 8,527.57)
The Global Association Of Central Counterparties – Adopts Its New Name And Branding From CCP12 To CCP Global

Today, The Global Association of Central Counterparties, officially adopts its new name and branding as CCP Global. The full official name will remain The Global Association of Central Counterparties. For years, the association had used “CCP12” as its name, reflecting an early core group of twelve CCPs who established the association in 2001. The decision was taken during the Annual General Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on the 13th June 2023, and becomes effective as of 31 st August 2023.

The Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) in Oman sold a cargo of 2 million barrels of Oman crude via DME auctions platform. The barrel cargo of November-loading Oman crude was awarded at a premium of $0.21 per barrel over November 2023 OSP.
DIFC Announces Proposed Amendments To Select Legislation

Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading global financial centre in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, has proposed the enactment of amendments to the Employment Law, Trust Law, Foundations Law and Operating Law. The proposed legislative changes seek to ensure DIFC Laws remain in line with international best practice and OECD requirements. In addition, proposed amendments to the Operating Regulations seek to enhance the Registrar of Companies’ (RoC) powers to regulate entities that operate outside of standard business hours.
