FRC, ISSB, NGX RegCo, To Launch IFRS 1, IFRS 2 On Monday

To provide full information, support investor decision-making and facilitate international comparability to attract capital, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of Nigeria and NGX Regulation Limited (NGX RegCo) is set to organize and host the launch of the first two IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 Standards) by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission Obtains Disqualification Orders Against Former Directors Of National Agricultural Holdings Limited

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has obtained disqualification orders in the Court of First Instance against a former executive director Mr Liu Yong, and two former independent non-executive directors, Ms Kathy Chiu Kam Hing and Mr William Fan Chung Yue of National Agricultural Holdings Limited (NAH).

The Reporting Transformation Committee will focus on overseeing the design of solutions for parts of the reporting process where the Bank, FCA and reporting firms interact directly. This will cover aspects of modernising reporting instructions and creating a better integrated end-to-end reporting process.

ESMA Publishes Guidelines On Templates For Summary Resolution Plans And For Written Arrangements For Resolution Colleges

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, has today published two Final Reports including guidelines on the central counterparties (CCPs) Resolution Regime under the CCP Recovery and Resolution Regulation (CCPRRR). This publication follows that of the Commission Delegated Regulations 2023/1193 on the content of resolution plans and 2023/1192 on resolution colleges.

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or the “Exchange”) supports the announcement made by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on 23 June 2023 to take action against Meta for failing to remove undesirable contents relating to amongst others, scam advertisements, on its platform. The Exchange has been the target of scams with ill-intentioned impersonation of Bursa Malaysia and its management on social media platforms – in particular Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, its Chief Executive Officer.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) welcomes the Hong Kong Government’s re-appointments of Miranda Kwok and Sun Yu to its Risk Management Committee (statutory) (RMC). The re-appointments were in accordance with the Securities and Futures Ordinance. They are for a term of two years with effect from 1 July 2023.
