ISE Reports Monthly Volume For July 2006 - Average Daily Volume Of 2.3 Million Contracts, Up 32.5% From July 2005

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) today reported that average daily trading volume for equity and index options contracts for July 2006 increased 32.5% to 2.3 million contracts as compared to 1.7 million contracts during the same period in 2005. Total equity and index options volume for the month increased 32.5% to 45.9 million contracts from 34.6 million contracts in the same year-ago period.

IntercontinentalExchange Exchange-wide Open Interest Hits New High July 30

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace, announced that ICE Futures, its regulated futures subsidiary, set a new daily volume record in the benchmark ICE Brent Crude futures contract. On July 31, volume in ICE Brent Crude futures reached 241,114 contracts, surpassing the March 9, 2006 record of 232,995 contracts by 3.5%. On July 31, open interest stood at a record 488,736 contracts.

Eurex Trading Volume Up 16 Percent In July - 107 Million Contracts Traded On Eurex In July - Total Volume In 2006 To Date Reaches 931 Million Contracts, Up 27 Percent Year On Year

Eurex, the world's largest derivatives exchange, traded and cleared 107 million contracts in July, a 16 percent rise year-on-year (July 2005: 92 million contracts). Approximately 931 million contracts were traded in the first seven months of 2006, an increase of approximately 27 percent on the same period in 2005. Average daily trading volume at Eurex currently stands at 6.3 million contracts.

Equities Turnover In July Up Five Percent Year-On-Year - €329 Billion In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In July - More Transactions On Xetra

Equities turnover on all German stock exchanges rose in July 2006 compared with the previous year. Order book statistics, which are based on single counting of all transactions in the order book of Xetra and broker-supported trading on the floor, show that the German stock exchanges generated an equities turnover of €117.2 billion in July – an increase of five percent year-on-year (July 2005: €111.7 billion). Total monthly volume in July 2006 was 104 million contracts. In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on August 8, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
