The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that 3M Company agreed to pay more than $6.5 million to resolve charges that it violated the books and records and internal controls provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Wells Fargo Settles With SEC For Charging Excessive Advisory Fees

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC and Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network LLC (collectively, Wells Fargo) for overcharging more than 10,900 investment advisory accounts more than $26.8 million in advisory fees. Wells Fargo agreed to pay a $35 million civil penalty to settle the SEC’s charges.

As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s implementation of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury Department) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) today released proposed regulations on the sale and exchange of digital assets by brokers, in an effort to crack down on tax cheats while helping law-abiding taxpayers know how much they owe on the sale or exchange of digital assets. This is part of a broader effort at Treasury to close the tax gap, address the tax evasion risks posed by digital assets, and help ensure that everyone plays by the same set of rules.

The Revised Delivery Rules of Shanghai Futures Exchange, the Revised Fuel Oil Futures Delivery Rules of the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the Revised Gold Futures Delivery Rules of the Shanghai Futures Exchange (Trial) and the Revised Bitumen Futures Delivery Rules of the Shanghai Futures Exchange (Trial) have been adopted by the Board of Directors of Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), and reported to the China Securities Regulatory Commission. These rules shall take effect as of October 18, 2023.
