The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) and the Singapore Investment Banking Association (SIBA) have announced that they have signed a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) in order to develop cooperation between the two associations in addressing the issues that concern their members in the international financial markets.

Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange Board Of Directors Approves Principles For Market Making In Stock Options

The Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) Board of Directors approved principles for incorporating market makers in stock option trading. Trading options on individual shares are scheduled to commence at the end of March 2009. Initially trading options on Israel Chemicals (ICL) shares will be launch, followed at a later date by options on Bank Leumi L’Israel, Bank Hapoalim and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.

Stakeholders are advised that the earnings per share ("EPS") of the JSE Limited Group ("Group") for the year ended 31 December 2008 ("the period") are expected to be between 43% and 53% higher than the previous year`s 321.3 cents per share and headline earnings per share ("HEPS") are expected to be between 60% and 70% higher than the previous year`s 292.1 cents per share.

SGX Implements New Securities Listing Rules And Revises Other Rules To Heighten Market Efficiency

Singapore Exchange Limited (“SGX”) today announced new listing rules and changes to securities listing rules that will take effect on 24 March 2009. This follows a public consultation in July 2008 on revisions arising from one of the Exchange’s more extensive rule reviews. In finalising the rules, SGX had incorporated feedback and suggestions from market participants to meet the varying market needs.
