BME Markets Monthly And Yearly Report - The Spanish Stock Exchange Traded €82.86 Billion In December, Up 36% Year On Year

Trading in Equities on the Spanish stock market in 2009 reached €897.15 bn. The number of trades on the ETF segment in 2009 was up 99% from a year earlier. Annual record trading in 2009 in Futures and Options, at 93.1 million contracts, up 12% from the previous year. Trading volume on the Corporate Debt market in 2009 hit an annual record high, at €.69 trillion, up 53.8% from a year earlier.

The new KDPW Strategy, successful implementation of the new depository-settlement system kdpw_stream, more than 200 General Meetings supported by KDPW and 18 million recorded operations were the highlights of the past year 2009. Mr. Kim, Bongsoo Appointed Chairman And CEO Of Korea Exchange

Mr. Kim, Bongsoo has been appointed as the Chairman & CEO of Korea Exchange for a three-year term, effective 30 December 2009. As the first CEO coming from the private sector, Mr. Kim held various positions in the securities industry prior to joining the KRX. His career in the industry began at the Ssangyong Securities Company in 1976.

Memorandum Of Understanding Between The National Depository For Securities Of Poland (KDPW) And The Republican Central Securities Depository Of Belarus (RCSD)

The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Securities Depository of Belarus (RCSD). It is the first step to establishing an operational link between the central depositories in Poland and Belarus, enabling the listing of Belarusian companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Estonian Central Register Of Securities To Reduce Its Service Charges

The Ministry of Finance has approved the price list of the Estonian Central Register of Securities (EVK), under which securities maintenance fees will decrease by up to a quarter and maintenance fees on investment fund shares by approximately one-third. The new price list became effective on 1 January 2010.
