The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it charged Willie L. Cloud, Jr. and his investment company, C & R Financial, Inc., both of Houston, Texas, with operating a Ponzi scheme in connection with foreign currency (forex) trading.

BM&FBOVESPA Adheres To The UN´S Principles For Responsible Investment

On March the 3rd, the Brazilian Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange – BM&FBOVESPA formalized its adherence to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). The PRI is a United Nations initiative developed by financial markets to promote responsible investment. The document was signed by the Exchange’s Sustainability director, Sonia Favaretto, during the first international PRI meeting held in Brazil. The event was hosted by Previ, the Bank of Brazil’s employee pension fund.

ICE Announces April Holiday Trading Schedules

(NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of regulated global futures exchanges, clearing houses and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, announced the April 2010 holiday trading schedules for ICE Futures U.S., ICE Futures Europe, ICE Futures Canada and ICE Clear Europe CDS. ICE Trust and ICE OTC energy hours will remain unchanged.

Federal Court Orders California Man David Michael Kogan And His Company, First Capitol Futures Group, To Pay More Than $20.3 Million In CFTC Commodity Options Fraud Action

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it obtained more than $20.3 million in civil monetary penalties and equity relief in a federal judgment order against David Michael Kogan and his company, First Capitol Futures Group (a/k/a and d/b/a First Capital Group), both of Sherman Oaks, Calif., in a CFTC anti-fraud action.

At the end of the settlement date of February 26, 2010, short interest in 2,418 NASDAQ Global MarketSM securities totaled 6,766,241,351 shares compared with 6,778,298,546 shares in 2,421 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of February 12, 2010. The end-of-February short interest represents 3.32 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 2.70 days for the prior reporting period.
