Bursa Malaysia: Shareholders To Receive Dividends Directly Into Bank Accounts

As part of an effort to enhance payment efficiency, all public listed companies (PLCs) on Bursa Malaysia that announce a books closing date for cash dividends on or after 1 September 2010 will be required to pay the cash dividends to their shareholders by directly crediting such payments into their bank account under the eDividend initiative. Shareholders who opt for this service will be able to receive their cash dividends directly into their bank accounts.

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has appointed Larry Jensen as Assistant Executive Officer of the pension fund’s Administrative Services Branch, Kim Malm as Interim Assistant Executive Officer for the Health Benefits Branch, Alan Milligan as CalPERS Interim Chief Actuary, and Danny Brown as Chief of the Office of Governmental Affairs.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it charged Claudio Aliaga, of Davie, Fla., and his company, CMA Capital Management, LLC, of Miami Lakes, Fla., with operating a Ponzi scheme involving the fraudulent solicitation of at least $4.5 million from at least 125 individuals to invest in foreign currency (forex) managed accounts and/or a pooled investment.

The end-of-March short interest represents 3.07 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 2.99 days for the prior reporting period.
