The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today issued an order filing and simultaneous settling charges against Noble Americas Corp. (Noble Americas) for entering into commodity futures trades and exchange for physical (EFP) trades in heating oil and gasoline on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and Globex that were wash and fictitious sales on several occasions during the period of March 30, 2007, through July 30, 2007.

ELX Futures Sets Record Average Daily Volume In April

ELX Futures, L.P. (ELX) announced today that record average daily volume (ADV) was set in the month of April at 61K contracts, the highest in the nine full months since launch. It also set a daily volume record on April 27 with 95K contracts traded for the combined five U.S. Treasury futures products as well as trading 70K contracts for six days in April. ELX also announced in April that it will launch its Eurodollar Futures contract on Friday, June 18, 2010.

BM&FBOVESPA Sets New Trading Records In Its Derivatives Segment

On Wednesday, April 28th, BM&FBOVESPA – the Brazilian Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange set yet another historic record with 107,466 trades in its derivatives segment passing the previous record of 103,885, which was set just one day earlier on April 27th. During Wednesday’s trading session 5,033,019 contracts were traded with a total financial volume of BRL406.59 billion.

The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that 360,753,581 total options contracts were traded in April, representing a 11.16 percent increase over April 2009 volume of 324,545,671 contracts.

In April, 126 billion euros were traded on Xetra and on the floor at Börse Frankfurt – an increase of 26 percent year-on-year (April 2009: 100 billion euros). Of the 126 billion euros, 118.8 billion euros were traded on Xetra, an increase of 27 percent year-on-year (April 2009: 93.4 billion euros). 7.2 billion euros were traded on the floor, an increase by 10 percent (April 2009: 6.5 billion euros).

At the international derivatives markets of Eurex an average daily volume of 12.7 million contracts was traded in April compared with 11.8 million in April 2009 – an increase of eight percent. Thereof, 9.4 million contracts were traded at Eurex (April 2009: 7.6 million), reflecting a 24 percent increase y-o-y, while 3.3 million contracts were traded at the ISE (April 2009: 4.2 million). In total, nearly 257 million contracts were traded on both exchanges (Eurex: 187.6 million, ISE: 69.2 million)
