At the end of the settlement date of August 31, 2010, short interest in 2,391 NASDAQ Global Market(SM)securities totaled 7,272,092,128 shares compared with 6,904,086,531 shares in 2,398 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of August 13, 2010. The end-of-August short interest represents 3.91 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.48 days for the prior reporting period.

SEC Approves Rules Expanding Stock-By-Stock Circuit Breakers And Clarifying Process For Breaking Erroneous Trades

The Securities and Exchange Commission today approved new rules submitted by the national securities exchanges and FINRA to expand a recently-adopted circuit breaker program to include all stocks in the Russell 1000 Index and certain exchange-traded funds. The SEC also approved new exchange and FINRA rules that clarify the process for breaking erroneous trades.

BM&FBOVESPA Presents Its First Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory And Aims For Zero Carbon Level - The Exchange Released 1,577 Tons Of CO2e In 2009 And Has Adopted A Series Of Measures To Cut Emissions

BM&FBOVESPA has concluded its first Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory, based on the methodology of the Brazil GHG Protocol Program. The results show that in 2009 the Exchange released 1,577 tons of CO2 equivalent – a measure used as a standard for various types of Greenhouse emission, considering different global warming potentials.

BM&FBOVESPA announces alterations to listing rules for companies committed to good corporate governance practices.
