Global Financial Centres Index 8 Published Today -"Now We Are Three"

Today the Z/Yen Group publishes the eighth Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 8) covering 75 financial centres. The big change from GFCI 7 in March 2010 is that Hong Kong has clearly joined London and New York as one of the 'Big Three' Global Financial Centres.

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders of Red Back Mining Inc. (TSX:RBI) and Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX:K) have approved the Plan of Arrangement whereby the companies will merge. SWIFT To Reduce Message Prices By An Average 20 Percent - Customers Will Save EUR 70 Million In 2011 - Largest Price Decrease Since 1995

SWIFT, the provider of global financial messaging services, announced yesterday that it is reducing the price of messages on its core FIN service by an average of 20 percent. This will represent an estimated saving of EUR 70 million for SWIFT customers in 2011. The new pricing plan takes effect on 1 January 2011.
