DIFC And Korea Capital Market Institute Reinforce Ties Through Strategic Cooperation Agreement - MoU Facilitates Investment And Relations Between Financial Institutions In South Korea And The UAE

Dubai International Financial Centre ("DIFC"), the financial and business gateway between the Middle East and the world, yesterday (Tuesday 14 June 2011) signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") with Korea Capital Market Institute ("KCMI"). The MoU will see DIFC and KCMI commit to supporting relationships between DIFC and South Korean institutions that are interested in expanding internationally. This will include jointly organising workshops, seminars and conferences among other initiatives to stimulate to business growth. The MoU was signed by Dr. Hyoung-Tae Kim, President, KCMI and Dr. Nasser Saidi, Chief Economist and Head of External Relations, DIFC Authority, at a special ceremony held in Seoul.

I thank you for inviting me to today’s hearing on implementing Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. I am pleased to testify on behalf of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). I also thank my fellow Commissioners and CFTC staff for their hard work and commitment on implementing the legislation.

Please be advised that in accordance with the resolution of the RTS’s Board of Directors that was passed in compliance with the Derivatives Rules of RTS, Clause 6.2 the evening trading session on FORTS will start 10 minutes later today, i.e. at 7:10 pm MSK, as today is the expiration day of the front month option contracts.

Chairwoman Stabenow, Ranking Member Roberts, and other members of the Committee, I appreciate this opportunity to provide the Federal Reserve Board's views on the implementation of title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act). The Board's responsibilities with respect to over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives fall into three broad areas: consultation and coordination with other authorities, both domestic and international; efforts to strengthen the infrastructure of derivatives markets; and supervision of many derivatives dealers and market participants.

Omega ATS Launches Smart Order Router - Continues To Innovate With Canada’s Only Free SOR

Omega ATS, the low latency alternative trading system for exchange-listed equities and fixed income instruments, today announced that it has introduced Smart Order Routing (SOR) based on OSC sanctioned TSX/TSXV CBBO. Omega ATS can now provide SOR at no additional cost to users and send orders to each marketplace even when a quote is not displayed in the CBBO. As a result, all orders placed via Omega ATS are able to participate in both dark and lit liquidity markets to deliver price improvements where possible.
