    MR. RICE: Good afternoon, everyone, welcome to this IMF Press Conference and thank you for coming. It's my pleasure to introduce you today to the Managing Director of the IMF, Madam Christine Lagarde. We also have with us today the Director of the Asia Pacific Department, Mr. Anoop Singh and our Resident Representative here in Beijing, Mr. Il Houng Lee.   • OCC Announces 2011 Options Volume Passes 4 Billion Contracts

    OCC announced today that year-to-date total options volume surpassed 4 billion contracts yesterday. This is the first time that U.S. exchange-listed options volume has ever reached this milestone in a single year.

    • Share volumes traded across Tape A, B, and Cincreased 2% monthly and 16% annually to182 billion shares (see chart).
    • In October 2011, off-exchange trading accounted for 29% of the shares traded in NMS Equity Securities, an increase of 2%.
    • Share volumes in NYSE-listed securitiesincreased 5% monthly and 11% annually to101 billion shares.
    • NASDAQ-listed securities traded over exchange increased 1% monthly and 9% annually to 44 billion shares.
