UK’s Financial Services Authority Fines HSBC £10.5million For Mis-Selling Products To Elderly Customers

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has issued its largest ever retail fine of £10.5 million to HSBC because of inappropriate investment advice provided by one of its subsidiaries, NHFA Limited (NHFA) to elderly customers. HSBC estimates that the amount of compensation to be paid to NHFA customers will be approximately £29.3 million in addition to the fine.

In addition to the CCP Services for cash equities provided by EMCF in 19 European markets through 9 Multilateral Trading Facilities (MTF) and Exchanges, EMCF will offer clearing and settlement services in Over The Counter Transactions (OTC) in ING issued Sprinters and Citi’s issued Speeders (both structured products) traded on cats (Citi’s Automated Trading Services).

Tokyo Stock Exchange: ETF License Application, Etc. For TOPIX Risk Control Index

In order to meet the various needs of our market participants, the TSE began calculating the volatility-focused TOPIX Risk Control Index on May 23 of this year. We are now accepting license applications for ETFs based on this index from December 5th to December 19th of this year.
