  • Datacom Systems Introduces New Network Monitoring Device Targeted At Proximity Hosting Service Providers In The High Speed Trading Environment

    Datacom Systems Inc. announces the availability of a new matrix switch designed for co-location operators and service providers within the high frequency trading environment. The network device, known as the SingleStreamTM 2222, allows service providers (or major high frequency traders) to passively tap up to 10, 10G or 1G communication links with only minimal latency. These tapped connections can then be used by market participants' network or trade latency tools to monitor financial trading. Co-location providers may sell such tapped connectivity to end users for their own monitoring, so this device offers them the opportunity to provide higher value services to their end clients. The additional latency by inserting the SingleStream inline is less than 5 nanoseconds.

  • Meeting Of The MICEX-RTS Board Of Directors Held

    On February 19, 2012 a meeting of the MICEX-RTS Board of Directors was held. The participants of the meeting were informed of technical glitches occurred during Q4 2011 and measures taken by the Exchange in order to reduce the probability of such failures in the future. The Board of Directors’ Technical Policy Commission and Audit Commission were instructed to control execution of the plan of action developed by the Exchange at least once a quarter.  The Exchange’s senior managers were asked to elaborate procedures for eliminating consequences of abnormal situations jointly with the Users Committees within a month.

    Thomson Reuters today announced that it has introduced a model to predict which stocks fund managers are likely to buy and sell from their portfolios. StarMine's Smart Holdings model forecasts institutional investors’ future buying and selling behaviour, identifying which companies would become increasingly or less attractive to these investors over the following quarter.  This forms part of Thomson Reuters aims to help professional Investment managers generate more profitable investment ideas and mitigate risks, giving them an edge over their peers.
