  • Eurosystem Collateral Management Services And Systems

    The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to discontinue the preparations for the Collateral Central Bank Management (CCBM2) project in its current form. In the project detailing phase, a number of challenges in the field of harmonisation were identified and the Eurosystem has decided to address these issues first before proceeding further with a common technical platform. The existing Correspondent Central Banking Model (CCBM) for cross-border collateral management remains in place.

    The U.S. Department of the Treasury today released Treasury International Capital (TIC) data for April 2012.  The next release, which will report on data for May 2012, is scheduled for July 17, 2012.

    Forum Trading Solutions Limited (“FORUM”) has acquired PLUS Trading Solutions Limited (“PLUS-TS”), a trading technology platform and regulatory managed services provider owned and operated by PLUS Markets Group plc. Post the acquisition Forum Trading Solutions will be fully amalgamated into PLUS-TS and be known as Forum Trading Solutions.

    Proposed Disposals of PLUS-SX and PLUS-TS

    Further to the announcements made yesterday and today in respect of the Proposed Disposal of PLUS-SX and the disposal of PLUS-TS, and following considerable media and shareholder comment on the Proposed Disposal and the situation of the Company, much of which is inaccurate and misleading, the Company sets out the following summary for the benefit of Shareholders ahead of the General Meeting to be held on Monday 18 June 2012:

    Over the last two years, the Company has dramatically reduced its cost base to the minimum level commensurate with its RIE status but has been unable to generate alternative sources of revenue to reverse its ongoing losses. The Board has considered a wide variety of options to refinance, restructure or sell the Company to protect shareholder value. All the options have been considered in the context of value and deliverability (including approval by the Financial Services Authority (the "FSA")).

    Further to the Company's announcement of 14 June 2012, the Company announces that Ahmed Ibrahim Al Asfour has been removed from the board of the Company and its wholly owned subsidiary PLUS Stock Exchange plc, following a request from Amara Dhari Investments Limited ("ADIL") (the "Notice") in accordance with the Company's shareholder agreement with ADIL dated 4 September 2009 (the "Shareholder Agreement").

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand’s (SET) will list KTAM Hong Kong ETF Tracker, or HK, an exchange-traded fund (ETF) managed by Krung Thai Asset Management pcl (KTAM) on June 19. It is Thailand’s first ETF based on Hang Seng index.

    ESMA today makes available the updated set of semi-annual statistical data on the performance of credit ratings including transition matrices and default rates. This new set of statistics covers ratings data up to 31 December 2011 and is available  available through the Central Rating Repository (CEREP).
