EEX Is Awarded Contract For The Permanent German Auction Platform

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has won the tender for the permanent auctioning platform on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. This means that EEX – in cooperation with Eurex Exchange – will conduct auctions of general EU allowances (EUA) and EU aviation allowances (EUAA) for the next three years with the possibility of extension for a further two years. At present, EEX carries out these auctions as a transitional auction platform.

Today, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) carried out the second auction on behalf of the Flanders region. In the auction, 2 million EUA have been sold at a price of 4.34 Euro/EUA. The total bidding amount was 8,593,000 EUA which means that participants demanded more than 4-fold the determined volume.14 companies took part in the auction.
