Thai Bourse Attracts Investors On ASEAN Trading Link Opening Event

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) together with Thai brokers, attracted over 300 investors in an ASEAN Trading Link opening event today by holding a panel discussion on "Knowing each other...top-pick ASEAN stocks” to give insights into ASEAN investment, with key executives from Bursa Malaysia Berhad and Singapore Exchange presenting their market overview and blue-chip stocks.

BSE Ltd. Joins The Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative

BSE Ltd. has been the first amongst global peers to join five other leading exchanges that have publicly committed to promoting sustainable investment practices. The other exchanges such as the Brazilian stock exchange BM& FBOVESPA, Egyptian Exchange (EGX), Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and NASDAQ OMX made a commitment towards improving sustainability at the SSE, Sustainable Stock Exchanges 2012 global dialogue in Rio de Janeiro earlier this year.

Bursa Malaysia Berhad today announced profit after tax and minority interest (PATAMI) of RM115.8 million for the nine months period ended 30 September 2012; compared to the PATAMI of RM114.8 million for the same period last year.

I am happy to brief you on our progress in this European Council. We started with a discussion about general political developments and challenges in Europe, in presence of the President of the European Parliament. Many colleagues referred to the Nobel Prize as a tribute for the Union’s past achievements and an encouragement for the future. Over dinner, we focussed on the future of the Economic and Monetary Union. The interim report I circulated last week served as a basis.

Bursa Malaysia completes the final phase of its CDS Straight Through Processing (CDS-STP) initiative for its market participants. This phase complements the earlier initiatives under CDS-STP to provide CDS balances and intraday updates to shareholding positions in CDS accounts, introduced on 18 June 2012 and 13 August 2012.
