In May 2013, the total volume traded in power derivatives on the European Energy Exchange (EEX) amounted to 66.9 TWh compared to 68.8 TWh in May 2013. The Power Derivatives Market volume contained 29.4 TWh from OTC clearing.

LME Clear And LCH.Clearnet Agree Migration Date For LME Clearing Services

The London Metal Exchange (LME) and LCH.Clearnet Ltd (LCH.Clearnet) have reached an agreement to migrate LME contracts currently cleared by LCH.Clearnet to LME Clear. Both parties have agreed to migrate the exchange contracts to LME's clearing platform on 22 September 2014, in order to give members and the market time to implement new EMIR regulations and to better manage an already busy period of change in the market.

NYSE Euronext Announces Trading Volumes For May 2013 - Global Derivatives ADV Up 4% Year-Over-Year And Up 8% Sequentially, Ex Bclear European And U.S. Cash Equities ADV Declined Year-Over-Year And Sequentially

NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced trading volumes for its global derivatives and cash equities exchanges for May 20131. Global derivatives average daily volume (“ADV”) of 7.6 million contracts, excluding Bclear in May 2013 increased 3.5% compared to May 2012 and increased 8.2% from April 2013. U.S. equity options volumes remained strong in May 2013 increasing 3.4% compared to May 2012 and increasing 1.2% sequentially. ADV in U.S. cash equities declined 19.2% year-over-year and decreased 1.8% month-over-month. European cash equities ADV in May 2013 decreased 12.9% compared to May 2012 and decreased 6.1% from April 2013 levels.

Shanghai Stock Exchange Market Closure Schedule For Dragon Boat Festival 2013

The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) hereby announces the market closure schedule for the Dragon Boat Festival 2013 in line with the “SSE Holiday Schedule for 2013” (Shang Zheng Jiao Zi [2012] No. 205). The SSE will close from June 10 (Monday) to June 12 (Wednesday), and open for trading on June 13 (Thursday). It will also close on the weekend on June 8 (Saturday) and June 9 (Sunday).

Tokyo Commodity Exchange May 2013 Volume Averaged 109,818 Contracts Per Day, Down 29.6%

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) announced today that May 2013 trading volume averaged 109,818 contracts per day, down 29.6% from April 2013. Average daily volume for most listed commodities fell: Gold was down 35.1% to 53,134 contracts, Platinum was down 20.9% to 16,015 contracts and Crude Oil was down 25.1% to 4,114 contracts.
